Qualifications:
Chuck Smith
Chuck Smith is a scientist and educator with 30 years experience across both professions. He has a B.S degree in pre-med and earned Master's degrees in biology and biology education. He has used his passion for learning and affinity for people to educate, mentor, and shape the lives of youth and young adults in all levels of education in both the biological sciences and life insurance sales. Chuck has prided himself in teaching subject matter in simplistic ways that allows for great comprehension and life application and has taught subjects including microbiology, anatomy/physiology, and zoology. He has also worked in environmental science as well as forensics. Watching his wife courageously battle cancer for 8 years catapulted Chuck into a heightened passion for wellness through nutrition and he is a staunch believer that all that we need to be healthy is in nature. Growing up in the small Alabama town of Cherokee, shaped Chuck’s love for the outdoors and strongly shaped his belief that close knit, team oriented efforts tend to be the most successful. In addition to being an avid scientist, he also loves writing poetry and meeting new people.
Chuck rarely meets a stranger and his relationships that have been forged with current and former students are just as important to him as his effectiveness as an educator.
In his downtime, Chuck enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, writing, travelling and being at the beach as much as possible.
